Writer's Assistant

Hey Everyone!

I am looking to become a writer's assistant. If you are or have been one and are willing to share some insight I would be very grateful.

  1. How did you obtain your position?
  2. How long have you been in your position?
  3. What do you love most about your position?
  4. What do you like least about your position?
  5. What are your hopes/dreams /aspirations going forward?
  6. Are you a part of any social networking groups? (Even if they aren't related to being a writer's assistant that you find useful)
  7. What are your hours and day-to-day workload like?

Thanks and hope I can return the favor one day!

Why do you want to be a writer's assistant vs. a writer? If lack of experience is the reason and you can writer well, try going for writer as well. I've seen writer gigs posted at websites for writers. Start there, such as Writers.com and google websites for writers to find more. It depends on what you want to write. You can seek representation with a Literary Agent or contact writers directly and pitch your skills/service.
